My husband and I went to The Baths on Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands on Friday February 5, 2021 and he surprisingly decided to take some photos. I don't really like photos taken of me. They must be taken a certain way. I surprised myself in this photo shoot. I was actually posing and having a good time. My husband was just snapping away and I just laughed at him. It was nice to be on the other side of the camera for a change

Inside Water Taxi Trinidad And Tobago
This is my mother inside one of the Trinidad And Tobago Water Taxi. We were on our way to San Fernando with from Port Of Spain, Trinidad And Tobago. I am so happy I took this photo, I should have taken more. My mother passed away on January 17, 2020. I am grateful we had this time together, we have a great time.
We walked around San Fernando a bit, stopped and got a coffee to make up time to get the ferry to return to Port-Of-Spain.
Photo was taken with my Nikon D60.

Report On Photography Job
My photography (beach birthday party for a 13 year old) job went great! To be honest I enjoyed taking candid shots the most. Having my to instruct the kids to pose was quite boring - to me that is. I took about 1000 pictures!
Initially the day started with a bit of rain but eventually the weather was great, the kids had a blast of a time!
The next step was to edit the photos, that took me quite a while. Quite a few people wore white clothing and there are some occasions, the white clothing conflicted with the background. I did not observe this until I downloaded the pictures.
I found a new online application and allows me to easily intensify my subjects in the photos. There were quite a few that was a bit dull and I used this application to enhance the colors. I am so happy that I found this application. If I had not done, I would have discarded these photos.
I also got a few great shots for my portfolio.
Last night I used my Hotmail account to create an album to send the photos to my client. I sent two emails. It took quite some time to upload these photos. My initial intention was to give my client a CD with the photos on it. This is much easier and less time consuming. I will do that tonight.
To be professional, I will also do a contact sheet, invoice (attach a business card onto the invoice). I also have to remember to get permission to use the photos on my website.

Power Boat Ride On Ispeed
My son invited me to brunch at Frenchman's Villas, Frenchman Cay, Tortola BVI. It was a beautiful Sunday morning. I was so happy I was not working that day. Our group consisted of my son's girlfriend, her mother, her nephew, my son and I.
After we had our meal, he took us for a short ride on a power boat named ISpeed, owned by Voyage Charters - the company that he works for. He wanted to test the boat as they were having some mechanical problems with it. These are some pictures that I took as we went on our short ride.
This is my son at the controls giving instructions to one of the workers. I call him Captain Krys.
This is the Ispeed power boat.

La Brea Pitch Lake, Trinidad And Tobago
In June of this year, my husband, daughter, her boyfriend and I drove down to the pitch lake in La Brea, Trinidad. La Brea is situated in the southern part of the island - past San Fernando.
The roads in La Brea as basically impossible to repair. As the pitch continues to grow, it unlevels the roads in the area. Whenever I travel to La Brea, I always know when I have arrived in the area. The roads are like a roller coaster. There is one house that is basically destroyed by the ever growing pitch in the owners yard and would you believe, the owner still lives in the house!
I noticed this beautiful patch of lilies as we approached the heart of the pitch lake.
We were guided into the pitch lake by our tour guide. He told us about the history the lake etc, he was very thorough, informative and answered all our questions.
The tour took about 30 - 45 minutes to go around the lake. As we were standing in the center of the Pitch Lake, our guide stuck a piece of stick into the ground and then pulled it out. A black liquid, sticky thing was on the stick - pitch in its liquid form.
Eventhough we walked on the Pitch Lake it was a little soft. Some spots were in its liquid form. We were unable to walk without our shoes as the lake was a bit to hot to bear without foot wear.
A wide view of the pitch lake (this is just part of it). It was a beautiful day! You can see the processing plant in the horizon.

Boxing Banana, St. Vincent And Grenadines
In St. Vincent, banana is grown to be exported and here in this photo, this farmer is packing them in boxes to be sold to the exporter. Many years ago, exportation of banana was done on a large scale but it has reduced considerably.

Roast Corn Vendor St. Vincent And The Grenadines
My husband and I were in St. Vincent (his country) for the first week in August 2010 and as we were driving around the island, we saw a few of these roast corn vendors. His sisters and I just went 'crazy'! We had to stop each time we saw a vendor and buy some of this corn. In Trinidad and Tobago where I am from, there are no longer any roast corn vendors at the side of the road, so it was a rare sight for me.

Moko Jumbie British Virgin Islands
I got the opportunity to take this picture on Saturday July 24, 2010. This young lady had just completed her session at the Annual BVI Kiddies Parade. People walking/dancing on sticks like this of various lengths are called Mokie Jumbies or Stick Walkers. Usually they are in costumes but as this young lady had completed her session, she had already taken off her costume.
Don't worry she is not about to fall, I asked her to show me a few tricks. Unfortunately another one of her colleagues had a bad fall that same day and hit her head on the ground as she fell. She had to be taken to the hospital.

Surf Dudes, Apple Bay, Tortola British Virgin Islands
These are some more pictures that I took that day earlier on in the year - surfing season, and I thought that I lost the pictures. There were alot of surfers around and I had a 'field day'. I even asked two guys who had just arrived, if I could take their pictures and they said okay. I felt like a real professional photographer!!!
